Sažetak
Project AWSERCRO, sponsored by the European Commission through the CARDS 2003 programme, was launched in order to improve the quantity and quality of information on solar and wind resources in Republic of Croatia. The project aims to realise this by conducting a measurement campaign, resource modelling and mapping of solar and wind potentials. These activities are expected to facilitate planning of renewables in the Croatian energy mix and to help design of support mechanisms that are to be incorporated into the new legal framework. The project will last for 3 years with the measurement program hopefully lasting for at least two years. Measurement program is expected to start in late 2005. When the measurements are completed, the available data will be used to carry out solar and wind resource assessment and determine solar and wind climatology of the pilot region.
