Sažetak
In early phase of research and development activities (R&D), when there is a need to define the aims, the tasks, the criteria for estimating the results and the elements of project-terms, as well as the main cost-parameters of one project, there is a need to assure quality of information for preparing of absolutely new technical results (in world relations), which will have an inventive step and an industrial applicability too. Especially these 3 criteria satisfy every protected invention in any kind of technical field, and we call it: "patent". Naturally, many of patents are not results of R&D activities, but a single success of inventors as individuals, nevertheless: it is indicative as an necessity to use especially patent-information on technique-technology reach in separate technical fields, because 70% of these information are not published anywhere else. If patent information of the best solutions is used for every R&D project, the probability for possible overmatching them becomes bigger, and keeps someone off the possibility to harm strange intellectual property rights. Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia is offering to public uses its own reach fund of such special kind of information on acceptable conditions and in a modern way: CD-ROM collections, different publications, on-line databases and consultations with their specialists for intellectual property rights in different kinds of technical fields. Use of such information should bring an arising of the quality and protection of results from every R&D project in the Republic of Croatia. One patent application related to scientific field on this session is shown as an example for use of patent-information in R&D activities.
