Sažetak
We studied 42 patients to determine fluctuations in the level of serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol within 24 h after the acute event, and on the 8 day after the onset of symptoms. The patients were not given specific antilipemic drugs. We conclude that in patients with acute cerebral stroke, triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels are increased and HDL cholesterol is decreased, due to stress and increased secretion of chatecholamines. On day 8, there was a decrease in serum triglycerides, total cholesterol ad LDL cholesterol, while HDL cholesterol was increased.
