Sažetak
Apart from legislatively well-defined exterior noise parameters and acceptable levels in various means of transportation, unfortunately very few of them deal with cabin (interior) noise, whose high levels significantly deteriorate the ergonomics of passengers and crew members. Even worse, being a strong masker to speech communication, interior noise in driver's cabin potentially endangers the safety of travel aggravating the quality of speech communication between the dispatcher/controller and the crew. Several on-board noise measurements on new Bombardier tilting DMA train operated by Croatian Railways (HŽ) were made under various driving and power plant conditions and some of the results are presented in this paper. Since this kind of high speed train is targeting primarily highly demanding business class passengers, the results are analyzed and used for Speech Interference Level (SIL) calculations, in order to quantify the influence of cabin noise on speech communication and overall acoustic comfort.
