Sažetak
Number of scholarly journals available in electronic form increases rapidly in recent years. Scholary journals are of great importance for scientists as information source. All major publishers besides publishing print journals publish their electronic counterparts. In order to find out if Croatian publishers follow this trend the research on it was taken. Croatian ISSN databes register 1700 journals, but analysis of Croatian web found only 140 electronic serials publication. It is hard to identify how many of those journals are scholary so I used list of print scholary journals at Ministry of Science and Technology web site as a starting point. Analyse was taken during June and July 2002. 223 journals were analysed. The results showed that more than half of journals has electronic version, but the number of full text journals is still pretty low. One of the reasons for this could be lack of financial support for electronic version since those journals are mostly published by professional associations, faculties and not by major publishers. Croatian scholary journals are publications with small-circulation and electronic edition could enlarge their visibility. I expect that Croatian publishers will recognize all advanteges of presence on the web and full text journals will prevail in the near future.
