Sažetak
In classical economy, to exploit natural resources means to make the highest possible use of their advantages and to focus fully on the commercial aspect of the exploitation, but also to use natural resources in a selfish and unethical manner. This complex definition does not mention the state of the resource being exploited. It only means that resources are exploited although it is not known with certainty whether what is being exploited can also be restored. The exploitation and management of a resource in the manner mentioned above does not give any guarantee for its future existence. Moreover, if management of a natural resource is based on market laws rather than on a flexible and regular return of a sustainable crop, then a natural resource may disappear completely. This is where a model of ecosystem management arises from.
