Sažetak
Head blight is an important wheat disease in the Republic of Croatia, since it causes the yield
decrease and the decrease of the grain quality. The infected grains are dangerous: there is o
possibility of disease transmission to the next vegetation and the seed germination is
decreased. It was established by us that F. graminearum dominated over wheat grain: it
presented 75,44% or rather 56,69% of all isolates. Smaller grains (fraction 2,2 mm) were more
infected than the big ones (fraction 2,8 mm). F. graminearum caused the decrease of seed
germination mostly. According to the results of our research approximately 83,28% of the
grains infected by the above mentioned Fusarium failed to germinate. For that reason F.
graminearum may be defined as the most pathogenous for wheat seedlings of all analysed
isolates of Fusarium spp.
