Sažetak
Work safety and environmental protection in Croatian wood processing plants get more and more attention. It mostly considers accidents on work, but environmental protection in technological process as well. Regarding new international standards ISO 14000, with environmental protection as basic work field, this paper shows the ways of environmental protection and work safety in wood processing firms in the Republic of Croatia. Relations between number of employees and number of work accidents will be shown, as well as the frequency coefficient of work accidents in wood processing firms in last couple of years. The possibilities of implementation and application of ISO 14000 in wood processing firms in the Republic of Croatia will be shown in addition.
