Sažetak
A group of programs has been developed to enable the production and filtered exchange of multimedia information. The principal idea is to use a PC to prepare multimedia information off-line or connected in LAN only and to exchange the packed and filtered information through WAN. The information is classified and stored into remote geographically dispersed servers acting as mail-boxes. In this way the telecommunication costs are significantly reduced in comparison to on-line services. The filtering significantly reduces the information overchoice. It is achieved by determining the information classification through two hierarchical levels, through check-boxes bearing mandatory match and by combo-boxes were one match per box is sufficient. Multimedia information includes text, pictures, sound and animation. Amount of information to be received is controllable by the user, again to prevent from excessive costs. Direct connections between users are also possible and they include features for efficient communication. Special programming tools have been developed to produce electronic catalogues and reproduce the multimedia information.
