Sažetak
Interest in determining As in some matherials has been growing in recent years. Arsenic is toxic and cancerogen. It can be found in soil, water, industrial and municipal wastes, men and animals. There are several techniques for determination of arsenic, but most of the proposed methods are very time consuming or require special equipment. In this paper a method for determination of total arsenic in gelatine is presented. The analytical method is based on the decompostion of the sample by HNO3+H2SO4+HCLO4 system. The procedure involves the reaction of As(V) with KJ in H2SO4 acidic solution. Liberated J2 is extracted in suitable organic solvent and measured at 515 nm. The method is applicable for deternmination of arsenic in gelatine in range 0.1-1.0 microg/g gelatine.
