Sažetak
Chlorophenols constitute a group of organic substances which are introduced into the environment as a result of several man-made activities, such as water disinfection, waste incineration, uncontrolled used of pesticides and herbicides, and also as by-products in the bleaching of paper pulp with chlorine. The chemical oxidation of toxic and hazardous organic pollutants such as chlorinated compounds, which are frequently present in surface waters and wastewaters, is often carried out by using single oxidants such as ozone, UV radiation, hydrogen peroxide, etc. Some systems based on the generation of very reactive and oxidizing free radicals, especially hydroxyl radicals, have experimented an increasing interest due to their high oxidant power. Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) are a group of treatment processes where the production of hydroxyl radicals radicals is achieved by input of electrical, chemical or radiative energy into the water matrix. In this paper, three different AOPs for the oxidation of 4-chlorophenol in an aqueous solution were compared ; Fenton (Fe(II)/H2O2), Ozone (O3) and Peroxone (O3/H2O2) processes. The influence of zeolites NH4ZSM5 and HY to degradation processes has been examined. The effects of the pH value, hydrogen peroxide and zeolites concentrations on elimination of 4-chlorophenols solution have been evaluated. Process efficiency was estimated on the basis of TOC measurements and HPLC analysis.
