Sažetak
This paper shows the adolescents hospitalised for the detoxification in the intensive care unit in the period from 1994 to 1997 (N=156). The subjects have averagely had high serum concentrations of alcohol, requiring the intensive care. Using the questionnaire, medical documentation and laboratory testing, we have obtained the results describing the sociological phenomenon of alcohol drinking among the adolescents. These data show that alcohol drinking is almost the adolescents. These data show that alcohol drinking is almost equally present among girls and boys. These young people mostly originate from families which have a positive-tolerant attitude towards the alcohol drinking and also, we should not neglect the presence of disturbed family interrelationships and a significant number of broken marriages. The subjects have most frequently reported the celebration of the and of the school term and going to the rock concert as the reasons for getting drunk. This results suggest that the prevention of alcoholism should be started very early, because the alcohol consumption and belonging to the alcohol subculture may cause the development of alcoholism during the later life of an individual.
