Sažetak
The present review article deals with two collections of studies published as the first two volumes in the series "Religions and Discourse" by Peter Lang under the editorship of James Francis. This new series is to focus on interdisciplinary approaches to the study of figurative language in religious discourse in the major world faiths. The books in question are: Ralph Bisschops and James Francis (eds.): Metaphor, Canon and Community. Jewish, Christian and Islamic Approaches. (Religions and Discourse 1. Bern et al.: Peter Lang, 1999, 307 pp.), and Lieven Boeve and Kurt Feyaerts (eds.): Metaphor and God-talk. (Religions and Discourse 2. Bern et al.: Peter Lang, 1999, 291 pp.). The books under review contain selections of essays which were presented at the 25th LAUD-symposium on "Metaphor and Religion", organized by René Dirven and Ralph Bisschops at Schloss Krickenbeck, Germany, between April 1 and 4, 1997.
