Sažetak
In this paper, we have displayed the results of clinical and biochemical indicators of alcoholism in the group of 39 alcoholics with the withdrawal syndrome, which we have correlated with the findings in the group of 39 alcoholics without the symptoms of the withdrawal syndrome. All subjects were 20-65 years old. The groups examined differ by the duration of the continuous drinking and by their tolerance to alcohol. In the group of alcoholics with the withdrawal syndrome the further disturbances determined by means of laboratory testing prevail: the increase of *-GT, sGPT, sHDL-C and feritine, indicating the developed alcoholism with severe functional damage of the organs and the organic systems. The study has confirmed more than 60% sensitivity of the following laboratory tests: MCV-E, *-GT, sGOT, sGPT, sHDL-C, feritine and CTD in the group of alcoholics with the withdrawal syndrome, while the tests *-GT, MCV-E, sGOT and CDT were equally sensitive in the group of alcoholics without the symptoms of the withdrawal syndrome.
