Sažetak
In development of humanikind and the overall social and economic international integration, the transport of cargo and people represents a necessity which predetermines the intensity of globalisation of a certain area. The interdependence of a growing part of the world is based precisely on the development of a unique, optimally integrated traffic system as a significant support to this process of global connections between certain social communities. In the current tendency of forming a unique traffic area that needs to be planned as a whole, the concentration of traffic at certain, strictly defined transport corridord in coming to the fore. The defining of a certain transport corridor is mainly stipulated by the favourable geographic (and other) conditions regarding functioning of the optimal traffic system in a concrete area characterised primarily by transitivity and its physical connectivitv with the neighbouring traffic systems. Therefore, the following questions have to be asked: WILL CROATIA, WHEN AND IN WHAT WAY INTEGRATE INTO THE EUROPEAN HIGHWAY NETWORK OF THE 21 ST CENTURY?! It is precisely the explication of the possible answers which is contained in the topic of this paper, and time will prove their (in)accuracy.
