Sažetak
Natural killer (NK) cells, exhibiting large granular lymphocytes (LGL) morphology, are involed in diference against viral , bacterial and malignant diseases. As reduction of LGL nimbers is asssociated with imoaired NK lysis a simple and reliable procedure for LGL determination offers a direct insight into this cellular defence mechanism. Rezults for LGL frequenvies in normals are compatible with those of some authirs but differ from those of Hajo and Lanzrein Frequency of large granular lymphocytes in peripheral blood of healty persons and breast cancer patients. Cancer Immnunol Immunother 16 (1983) 65-66. Smear procedure does not effect the results, and feel that recognition criteria account for differences in published values. The whole blood smear as a simple, quick chean and reliable procedure suitable for LGL frequency determinetion in clinics.
