Sažetak
The activity of alkaline phosphatase in fetal testes was exclusively linked to the developmental forms of interstitial cells and gonocytes. In mature Leydig´s cells and in fetal sprematogonia histoenzymatic activity was negative. It is evident that alkaline phosphatase is a characteristic of the early developmental stages of the cells and takes part in the process of differentiation of the individual structures of the testes. As pregnancy progresses there is a continuous decrease in cells which in the germinative cords show alkaline phosphatase activity. This indicates an intensive transformaton of gonocytes into primary spermatogonia in the last week of pregnancy. 2.The activity of adenosine triphosphatase in the proper membrane of the germinative cords indicates the existence of a hematotesticular barrier in the perinatal period. 3.Polarization of the activity of lysosomal hydrolases was also associated with the differentiation of the interstitial cells. The activity of beta-glucuronidase and acid phosphatase was in all likelihood associated with the mechanism of secretion of the fetal androgen. 4.The activity of non-specific esterases was present in all developmental forms of the interstitial cells. Variations in the activity of non-esterases in the overall cellular system of the interstitium before and after birth indicates that testicular interstitium is sensitive to hormonal action. 5.The investigated activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and of alpha-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase showed that Leydig´s cells were in the perinatal period functionally mature. Clinical and pathomorphological data showed that the processes of testicular development took place under condition of protracted fetal and perinatal asphyxia. Morphological changes in the kyema, and particularly in the placenta, indicate that a high level of chorionic gonadotropine, accompanied by a continuosly low level of oestriole, was responsible for the intensive histoenzymatic testicular activity noted in the perinatal period.
