Sažetak
In the last few years the techniques of artificial intelligence have had a considerable influence on the designing of complex traffic systems. This paper offers an example of the application of fuzzy logic in the regulation of traffic on traffic lights crossings. The purpose of this is the increase of traffic flow rate at shorter waiting time. In contrast to conventional regulation methods by applying the method discussed makes it possible to effect an optimal change of signal symbols in real time. This method lakes into consideration the duration of the cycle as well as the number of vehicles in front of the red or in front of the green lights.
