Sažetak
Systems that have a great number of vehicles, have to organise special services that will monitor all the activities during exploitation, servicing and repairing the vehicles. In this way, the proper functioning of the motor vehicles may be insured. In principle, methods of monitoring the vehicles during all the common operation have been developed. However, in certain specific conditions, there may be and there are problems. This paper deals with diagnosing the condition of motor vehicles, using numerous experiences from practice, and based on the conclusions, the way how to approach some problems, which may be quite specific, may be recommended. The basic value of the diagnostic systems consists in acquiring the knowledge about actual condition of the motor vehicle system, without having to disassemble the vehicle. This is valid for other technical systems as well, especially for those similar to motor vehicles. Motor vehicle diagnostics is only a part of the activity, studied in the scientific field of motor vehicle maintenance, also studying, determining and estimating the failures of all the systems, parts and units, with the aim of determining the overall condition of the motor vehicle. The process and the methods of determining and making decisions, i.e. estimate regarding the condition of the motor vehicle is diagnosing, and the estimate may be brought by methods without disassembling the units or the whole vehicle, but also by partial or complete disassembling. Diagnostics, which does not require disassembling, is preferred due to technical and economic reasons.
