Sažetak
For a harmonius development and efficient management of tourism destination, marketing management requires a great deal of information and a developed information system. The introduction of information technology enables the management to communicate in a much easier way with the outside world decision -making, a harmonius development of all offer segments and an easier way of running tourism destination, all this is owed to the reason that marketing management on company level has no such interest or if such interest does exist it rather modest.
The author of this study focuses on this theme taking as an example the Coutry of istria as a leading tourism destination in the country, analyses in what way and for what purpose the information system is being used for the needs of the marketing management of a tourism destination as well as of catering and tourism company.
