Sažetak
Autocalibration of a computer-controlled measurement system, based on N reference points, is described. Several measurement system models and measurement procedures suitable for measurements of slowly varying analog quantities are developed, and the corresponding approximations of the correction functions are derived. A discrete optimization algorithm is developed, yielding the optimum total number and the distribution of reference values for the given measurement system calibration characteristic in tabular form. The measurement system periodically performs automatic calibration of the measurement system characteristic by measuring certain reference values. The simulation of measurement procedures on a digital computer shows a significant reduction of measurement error when using autocalibration by N reference points instead of 2-point autocalibration, which is equivalent to the well-known zero and gain correction procedures. N-point autocalibration enables achievement of a high measurement accuracy by using lower-performance analog circuits. The only requirement is to have highly stable reference values.
