Sažetak
The aim of a carburizing process is to achieve a required carbon profile in the carburized layer. If the carburizing process is carried out with a variable C-potential, all of process requirements can be achieved. This paper presents the results of a carburizing process with three alternations of C-potential. Required parameters for this carburizing process are determined using genetic algorithm. The results obtained for unalloyed steel are encouraging and show that it is possible to apply the genetic algorithm for the determination of the carburizing parameters, and also indicate a possible application in other diffusion processes.
