Sažetak
Epicutaneous (patch) test is a standard test to confirme contact allergy. During six years period, from 1998 to 2003 were out of 6341 patients, 4132 (65 %), who have diagnosed contact allergic dermatitis using standard patch test with Croatian series of allergens according International Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ICDRG).The most clinical diagnoses in relation to contact allergy were in men and female: contact allergic dermatitis ( 65, 4% ; 72, 2%) ; atopic dermatitis (15, 9% ; 11, 7%) ; contact irritant dermatitis (7, 0% ; 6, 6%) and nummular eczematoid dermatitis (4, 2 % ; 2, 4%). According occupation during six years the workers were most frequent subjects with positive patch test reaction. Sixty five patients (65 %) showed positive reactions to one or more substances. The most common frequent allergens were nickel, cobalt, carba, fragrance and potassium dichromate. There was an increased frequency of positive patch test reactions to thiomersal, neomycine, fragrance and nickel sulfate. A significant decrease of frequency was on cobalt, mercury, parabens and rubber mixture. We strongly recommend keeping up- to date with epidemiology of contact allergy in Croatia.
