Sažetak
It is apparent that the progress made in the digitalization of assets of academic libraries imposes a new set of demands on the library staff concerning the acquisition of appropriate skills for successful management of such a library. However, there is also a new set of demands placed on the user who needs a certain set of skills to function in the environment of the digital library. Such skills facilitate operation of the library and reduce the load on the librarian. In order for the user to operate at an acceptable level of efficiency, he or she must receive proper education and training. This paper elaborates on several most applicable ways of educating students for this purpose, with an emphasis on computer-based education, an approach that optimizes the learning process of the user while simultaneously minimizing time the librarian needs to be directly involved.
