Sažetak
Seasonal and vertical distribution of Chaetoceros species were investigated in the Mali Ston and Gruž Bays with monthly samplings during two one-year cycles (1984-1985 and 1988-1989) at depth intervals of 1 meter. We identified 28 different species of Chateoceros. Seasonal alternations between mixing and stratification of water column in the Mali Ston Bay, affected Chaetoceros dynamics on a seasonal scale. Vertical distribution of dominant Cheatoceros spp. depended on the picnocline position in the water column.
