Sažetak
The relation between a moment of harvesting, yield, quality and some chemical properties was investigated during the four years. The experiment was set up according to the split-plot method. The tobacco was fertilized with 21 and 42 kg/ha of nitrogen added in the form of fertilizer mixture. The experiment was set up with four harvesting treatments. The tobacco was harvested in the phase of visually estimated technological maturity base treatment than one and two harvest earlier (immature and very immature tobacco) and one harvest after visually estimated technological maturity (over mature tobacco). Exactly three leaves were picked up in each harvest. Harvesting in the phase of over maturity tobacco showed a highest yield (in two years), better visualy estimated quality (in three years) and highest proportion of better grades (in three years) over the base treatment for up to maximum 5%, 21% and 143%, respectively. Only a slightly lower content of nicotine and reducing sugars was found in the earlier harvested tobacco. The content of total chlorophyll in the leaves varied, in dependence of the year, from 3, 63 mg/g in the very immature harvested tobacco up to 1, 62 mg/g dry of matter in the leaves of the over mature tobacco (based on the average of whole plant).
