Sažetak
Forest management in Croatia has a very long tradition and a prominent role in the history of forestry, particularly in the post-communist period and process of denationalization. The numerous activites of the 150-year ald Association of Fdorestry Engineers and Technicians include the publication of a scientific-specialist paper "Forestry Journal", wich has been coming out for 120 years.The foundations of present-day forestry were laid down in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when MariaTheresa issued a legal order called "Urbarium". Today modern forestry is based on the system of forest management which unites and complements other systems in forestry.
