Sažetak
Simple disposal of galvanic sludges, as the way of management of this waste stream, is very expensive approach, both from the aspect of natural resources protection, as well as from the economic point of view. The most common methods of managing these types of sludges in development countries, involve there generation of metals or use of the sludges as a secondary raw materials. APO in cooperation with the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Zagreb, prepared a generic study on the possibilities of transforming galvanic sludges into brick, as a secondary raw material. In the paper, the conditions and the testing made in the course of experimental use of galvanic sludge as a secondary raw material, as well as present practices and the main results in management of this type of sludge are presented and discussed.
