Sažetak
The significance of tourism for economical development and prosperity of Croatian inhabitants is particularly large and, on present level, is demanding active deliberation about potential partnership of public and private sector. WTO survey shows that, historically and topically, public sector (government) has imperative role in the tourism development. Since the making of initial conditions (i.e. large infrastructure investments) public and private sector cooperate today mainly through: • Improvement of the destination attractiveness • Improvement of the marketing efficacy • Improvement of the productivity • Improvement of total tourist sector management Simultaneously, understanding of tourist destination and its components indicates the necessity of partnership between public and private sector. Among many ways of partnership, as regards on continued significance, is worth pointing out the process of strategic managing on macro, mezzo and destination level. In the case of Croatia comprehensively cooperation is necessarily, from partnership in infrastructure investment activities to coordinating role of local tourist association. On entirely concrete level (Rovinj, Croatia), through making the Master plan of tourism development it is shown that the partnership model can function with aim of making the diamond of competitiveness.
