Sažetak
Following the market requirements the owner of SEDU Labin, which is Levingston 111 C type jack-up platform (built 1985), was faced with the necessity to upgrade the platform to the contemporary market conditions. The upgrading includes: leg extension from 122, 079 m to 136, 557 m, construction of the new lower derrick substructure, increasing of the jacking capacity at the stern legs, stern structure extension, building two side blisters and complete accommodation space refurbishing to accommodate 98 people according to required standard (2 beds cabin with toilette and bathroom). More than 1200 t of high tensile steel has been spent and high level welding workmanship was applied in the reconstruction. The paper describes the engineering undertaken to estimate and to define the utmost possible extension of the existing platform capability to reach the mentioned goal under the present constrains: jacking capacity, spud can bearing, the hull and the leg structural capacity, overturning moment in jacked position and hydrostatic and hydrodynamic characteristics of the platform in flotation.
