Sažetak
While risk management tehniques and models are frequently abject of studies, less attention is placed on the organisational aspects of risk management and in particular in what way banks are structured to manage and control the different risk profiles. In this article we have devoted special attention to tje issue regarding the boundaries and balance of roles and responsibilities between risk management units at the Group level (or the Holding level, depending on the banking Group structure) and those located inside the single Business Aereas (or in the operational companies in case of Holding structure). However aside from pointing out the risk management organisation adopted by banks, we have also outlined, a hipothesis of risk management and control framework to be implemented in banks. This framework is particularly focused on defining the organisation structure of the risk management function on the Group level, indentifying borderlines of responsibility with the other business functions both in the Business Areas at the Group level.
