Sažetak
Thanks to its 5,791-km long coast Croatia become important Mediterranean destination for foreign tourists. It was only during 1970s that the development of tourism in Croatia opens new perspective on the islands. Slower pace of islands tourism development compared to coast enables preservation of their environment and valuable cultural-historical resources, and today islands represent strategically potential for Croatian tourism.
