Sažetak
Croatian enterprises work today the in transitional business environment characterized by the rushing and deep changes, and the unsure and the uncertain future. The progresses in such environment realize only those enterprises that faster and more efficacious adapt new business concepts and models. The flexibility, the innovative and the continuous improvement of business are core elements that become components of strategic approach in the construction of competitive advantages. The progresses in information and communications technology, data processing and in telecommunications enable the virtualization and globalization of business. E-business era dramatically and strategically change traditional business models. Direct access to information and their quick and cost-effective global reach enables radical changes in all economic sectors and changes in companies of all sizes and business activities. This paper considers trends that are driven towards the increased virtualization of business as well as the implementation of the e-business concept. The paper concludes with the examination of the level of virtualization and e-business implementation in selected Croatian enterprises.
