Sažetak
Ten alfalfa populations were grown at two locations - Osijek (L-1) and Petrijevci (L-2) in the field plot experiment with four replications, each plot 1 m2, sown in 1994. Soil in Osijek was characterized in comparison to the one in Petrijevci by higher pH in water solution (7.0 and 5.4, resp.), by higher humus content (3.4 and 1.8 %), by higher content of P and K higher air temperature during the vegetation and lower precipitations (from March till September 398 and 471 mm, resp.). Thre cuts were done in butonization phase. Results from the first year proved significant differences for all mentioned parametres among the investigated populations. Green mass yield was by 36.69 % higher in L-1 (12.896 t/ha) than in L-2 (8.165 t/ha), dry matter content by 4.123 %. Green matter yield of the populations varied from 8.7 to 11.3 t/ha. Concentration of the elements in above ground part of the plants was determined only in third cut. N-concentration for the genotypes was on average higher in L-1 (3.62 %) than in L-2 (3.20 %), P-concentration was also higher in L-1 (0.42 %) than in L-2 (0.40 %), whereas K-concentration was higher in L-2 (2.76 %) than in L-1 (2.52 %). N-concentration of the populations amounted from 3.25 to 3.54 % with average 3.41 %, P-concentration from 0.39 to 0.43, K-concentration from 2.61 to 2.78 %.
