Sažetak
A body containing garnet pyroxenites and hornblendites occurs along the south-western border of the lherzolite ophiolite complex Borje in Solila region, in Central Dinaride Ophiolite Belt (CDOB), Bosnia. It is approximately 200 m wide and 1, 5 km long comprising a number of distinct garnet pyroxenites and hornblendites which are cogenetically connected with fertile spinel lherzolites. The garnet pyroxenites and hornblendites are high pressure crystallization products formed by the partial melting of border parts of lherzolite bodies in mantle and were as solid fragments together with lherzolites emplaced into the higher crust level. Primary compositions of the garnet pyroxenites and hornblendites are more or less metasomatized and their textures characterized by subsolidus reactions and neoblastic products. The whole rock chemistry is quite variable ranging from high basic olivine basalts and low alcalic basalts to ultrabasic rocks. The most rocks are characterized by normative nepheline. The main minerals are almandine garnets and clinopyroxenes in garnet pyroxenites and pargasite and Ti-pargasite amphiboles in hornblendites. Some of garnets pyroxenites and hornblendites show unusually high Ti-, K- and P-contents resulting in the occurence of Ti-pargasite, Mg-ilmenite and apatite. The accessory garnet, corundum, spinel and anorthite occur in some hornblendites. Identical rocks are typical of almost all ophiolite complexes in CDOB.
