Sažetak
Security position of the Republic of Croatia is determined by its recent history, its multiregional belonging as well as the integration strives and perspectives. Apart from the recent history which represents burdening factor of the national security, integration perspectives are the only historical opportunity for its strengthening and elimination of all consequences of the recent war. By joining the "Partnership for Peace" , national security of the Republic of Croatia acquires another additional quality, and at the same time, the instruments of the security policy have acquired new substances. Joining NATO is one of the primary objectives of the foreign policy of Croatia, which thinks that security and stability can be solved best with cooperative and joint efforts. National security of the republic of Croatia lies on the foundations of principles and mechanisms of the collective security.
