Sažetak
In most cultures and societies, religion is a significant force or at least tend to be one of forces that establish and maintain sexual attitudes and regulate sexual behaviour. Religions draw their strength from systems of beliefs which include divine authority or spiritual being (or several of them), for whom is believed that it has created the world and rules and controls world's destiny. Since this divine authority controls peoples' individual destinies in this life and rewards or punishes them in another life, religions are usually engaged in some kind of revelation, contained in a holly text or transmitted through a chosen representative. These revelations and holly texts very often include regulations of sexual behaviour and establish certain rules about who can have sexual intercourse, under which conditions, as well as when, how and why. When making analyses of relationship between religion and sex, it should be kept in mind that religions (as well as any other social system) appear to be created on a contradiction. In some sense, religion is involved in self-conflict over nature, purpose and control of fundamental human reality known as sex and sexuality.
