Sažetak
This article deals with the economic valuation of forests in tourism in Southern Croatia and with the influence of some predicted variables on that value. Results show that forests have definite value for Croatian coastal tourism and that this can be expressed in monetary terms. Tourists are willing to pay additional amounts for accommodation or sojourn tax in order to help protection the existing forest and for the reforesting of burned area. The amount they are willing to pay depends on the location of the forest, the nationality of the respondents, their experience of Croatia and the existence of competition with other tourist destinations.
