Sažetak
The author selected three topics in maintenance that might have a major impact on further developments in this field. New technologies change the maintenance objects, the approach to maintenance and the respective tools. Ambient computing, palpable computing, and augmented reality offer new features in organisation and performing of maintenance. In such environment it is essential to constantly enhance and renew the knowledge about maintenance. This can be achieved through lifelong learning and Knowledge Transfer Partnership. Increased environmental concern and elevated responsibility towards the society, as promoted through Corporate Social Responsibility programmes enable progress in maintenance, which is a crucial resource in striving to improve the human wellbeing and preserve the environment.
