Sažetak
For the time being, the production of energy in the Republic of Croatia does not meet its demands, thus forcing it to compensate for the energy deficit by means of import. It is therefore necessary to pay more attention to the development of alterative and available energy sources in Croatia. One of such sources is organic residue, which can be processed into biogas by means of aerobic fermentation. In order to make this production profilitable, it is necessary to create a market. The optimal conversion of biogas into thermal and electrical energy is contucted by BHKW. The surplus of meeting one, s own demands, whereas the surplus could be sold to industry. Since this energy is produced in an environment - friendly way, the goverment should subsidize this manner of production, as it is practiced in similar models present in the EU countries.
