Sažetak
Today, after almost three years since Republic of Croatia was admitted to the WTO, it is justified to analyze the effects of liberalization of the financial system. Generally speaking most of the effects are positive since they should facilitate the inclusion of the country into the global current of economies and investment and improve the efficiency of the domestic financial system. Since the activities of the WTO primarily aim at the liberalization of tariff and non-tariff protection of domestic economy this work will in detail analyse the tariff system of Republic of Croatia as well as its adoption to the demands of WTO. We will also deal with the liberalization of the service sector, on which the activity of the WTO expanded after the Uruguay round, but the focus of attention will be only the area of finance services. By entering the WTO, Croatia has made the first step towards the membership of the EU, therefore we will also analyse this aspect, i.e. the degree of harmony between financial system with that of European and other countries as well as its aspects on the entire economic and the commercial system of our country.
