Sažetak
This article deals with the role of potable water in the development of tourism in the region of Istria. Water requirements have been calculated on the basis of daily consumption per guests, and the number of guests. The available quantities of water were then determined using water flows measured at the estuaries of the main rivers. Data obtained has revealed an incongruity between the available quantities of water and the number of guests during the height of the tourist season. The solution to this problem is the construction of water storage reservoirs. The largest water storage reservoir is Botonega.
