Sažetak
Aim. To identify the most important origins and the average daily caffeine intake in Osijek teenagers. Method. Caffeine in soft drinks was determined by HPLC method. We interviewed Osijek teenagers using an adapted Caffeine Consumption Questionaire( University of Wisconsin ). Results. 50% of consumed caffeine was from soft drinks, 37% from coffee and 13% from chocolate. Average soft drinks concentration in the analysed samples was 100 ą 26, 86 mg/l. Average daily caffeine intake was 62, 76 ą 59, 51 mg/day. Statisticaly there were no differences between boys and girls. Conclusion. Our results and their possible pharmalogical effects suggest the necessity of control of teenagers, caffeine consumption amount.
