Sažetak
A total of 9, 436 fishes belonging to 15 families and 43 species were caught in spring (1721), summer (1497), autumn (2591) and winter (3627), on 6 stations in Pantan Lagoon, middle eastern Adriatic, using a 50 m long beach seine. Seven species: Atherina boyeri (33.3%), Pomatoschistus marmoratus (23.2%), Liza aurata (8.3%), Liza ramada (7.1%), Aphanius fasciatus (5.5%), Pomatoschistus bathi (5.1%) and Diplodus annularis (2.9%) comprised 85.4% of the total. The community structure was specified by species richness (D), diversity (H), evenness (J) and Jaccard similarity coefficient (K). The highest overall values of D (3.858) and H (2.129) were obtained for transitive area. The value of D ranged from 1.580 (transitive marine-brackish location in winter) to 2.858 (marine location in spring). H values fluctuated from 0.836 (marine location in autumn) to 2.235 (transitive marine-brackish location in spring). The value of J ranged from 0.289 (marine location in autumn) to 0.796 (lagoon in spring) with highest annual value (0.672) for lagoon location (Stations 5 and 6). The coefficient K was highest between transitive and lagoon locations in winter (0.762) and had lowest value between marine in summer and transitive location in winter (0.525). According to the same coefficient, marine and transitive stations were most similar. Preliminary results of the present study provide a basis for future studies of aspects that may influence the distribution and abundance of fishes during different seasons in Pantan Lagoon, and for protection of the specific area.
