Sažetak
The Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Mill.) in Croatia in naturally distributed on the Dalmatian islands south of Šibenik and along the coast south of Split. It is often grown in cultures, parks, and plantations along the entire coastal region of the Republic of Croatia. Between 1973 and 1993 there were 4,466 fires on the coast and the islands of Croatia destroying 182,360 ha of forests and forested land. The average annually burned surface was 8,684 ha (the data do not include the fires and fire-devastated areas occuring in the 1991-1995 period in the Croatian territory occupied until recently).
Since it is not possible to regenerate all burned areas at once, priority is given to those with the most important ecological, first of all pedoloogical factors, such as the risk of soil degradation by erosion, and the productive potentials of the soil (quality). The methods to be used in practice include: allowing natural succession, planting seedlings, sowing seeds, combining the above methods.
