Sažetak
The offer (amount and diversity)of tehnical textiles appropriate for sailmarking considerably surpasses the ability of sail-makers to grade successfully their quality and usability. Modern sailcloth materials are extremely complex, both regarding the type of fibers used and, even more so, regarding specific construction characteristics. For those reason micro- and macro-construction features of modern sailcloth, become a topic that asks for systematic investigation. The paper presented here is a contribution to the overall objective measurment and evaluation of sailcloth quality, in veiw of defining relevant quality descriptors for sailcloth micro- and macro-construction as in establishing adequate testing methods and procedures for their masurment and evaluation of results.
