Sažetak
Since 1949 Postgraduate study in Occupational Health has been held in “ Andrija Štampar” School of Public Health, and since 1955, 54 doctoral theses and 103 master’ s theses have been made. This study is aimed as an obliged part of a three-year lasting specializatin in Occupational Healh for medical doctors.Occupational medicine/health is medical specialty, aimed at the prevention and management of occupational injuries, illness, and disability, and the promotion of health of workers. The occupational medicine/health specialist must possess sufficient knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes to meet mentioned demands. In 2003 Sports Medicine was added as a part of the Occupational Health specialization, whose program was accordingly coordinated with UEMS requirements. A trainee specialist must complete 4 years specialist training program: postgraduate study of 400 hours and practical training carried out in occupational health situations working conditions evaluations and also clinical practice.
