Sažetak
The measured potential levels with specimens of UNS S31254 are generally in accordance with data reported in the literature for passive stainless steel in natural seawater without a susceptibility to crevice corrosion, due to the highest content of molybdenum among three investigated types of steel. An important parameter in the difference between experimental conditions in flowing and stagnant seawater is the presence of an active bioflm on the metal surface in flowing system, which is inactive in laboratory stagnant conditions.Parameters necessary to evaluate the susceptibility to crevice corrosion are the temperature, potential level, potential increase rate and cathodic reduction rate. According to these measured data specimens of UNS S31600 and UNS N08904 with Mo 2.56% and 4.30% rspectively have shown the tendency to crevice corrosion.
