Sažetak
The whole area of health care is undergoing constant developments and change. Health education and health promotion (HE/HP) are also undergoing change in an attempt to adjust to the needs of this changing world. The way of looking and dealing with health problems at work is also changing. The concept of health at work has been extended from the traditional concern to a compehensive definition of health and related problems. The emphasis in dealing with health problems at work has shifted from preventive screening, prevention of accidents, management of chronic problems and access to health care to concern with health related and health directed behaviour including inter-human reltions (discrimination, mobbing) and personal problems of dealing and managing diseases (burn-out, stress). The new settings approach is concerned mainly with the application of HE/HP in practical situations, based on the principle of accountability. HE/HP as a movement has strong political implications such as, for example, in the widespread idea of creating « ; health promoting settings» ; : enterprises, hospitals, schools, cities. The world of work is changing, and the complexities are many and big. Stress is one of the most important work-related health problems in the European Union today, but traditional work environmental problems, like noise and chemical risks, remain or are even getting worse. Health education (HE) is the continuum of learning which enables people, as individuals and as members of social structure, to voluntarily make decisions, modify behaviors and change social conditions in ways which are health enhancing. Health promotions (HP) is the aggregate of all purposeful activities designed to improve personal and public health through a combination of strategies, including the competent implementation of behavioral changes strategies, health education, health protection measures, risk factor detection, health enhancement and health maintenance. Health promotion is the science and art of helping people change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health.
