Sažetak
The bay of Izmit has been monitored during 1994 and 1995. Discharges of waste waters into the surface layer significantly affects biological production and oxygen consumption at the bottom layer. Although during last ten years 80 % of organic load from industrial sources has been reduced, inflow of domestic sources doubled. As a result, total organic load has not changed.
